Sunday Oliseh Must Name Bad Journalists Within Seven Days – SWAN
Super Eagles coach, Sunday Oliseh, has been given a seven day ultimatum by the Sports Writers a$$ociation of Nigeria to disclose the names of the journalists he claimed approached him for money in exchange for favourable reports.
This followed Oliseh’s youtube video outburst where Oliseh accused some members of the a$$ociation he didn’t name of trying to extort money him, and the Secretary General of SWAN, Andrew Abah, in his release told Oliseh to name those involved in the act.
The released also recalled Oliseh’s claim that some journalists even went as far as acting as agents in order to get some players into the Eagles.
According to the release: “Our attention has been drawn to a recent statement credited to the Head Coach of the Super Eagles Mr.Sunday Ogorchukwu Oliseh that some members of the Sports Writers a$$ociation of Nigeria (SWAN) have been approaching him requesting for money to enable them write favourable reports for him, and that some are acting as agents requesting that he invites certain players to camp so that they can do business with them.
“The leadership of the Sports Writers a$$ociation of Nigeria in its quest to ensure continuous sanity in the profession, and for the purpose of the change mantra which is gradually revolving round every aspect of the economy, is requesting that the Head Coach names these journalists that approached him within the next seven days.
“This has been imperative considering the recent bashing the Sports Writers have been receiving from the NFF and its employees. It would be recalled that the NFF President only recently at the National a$$embly took a swipe on the Sports Writers for being the brain behind their inabilities to secure sponsors for the Federation.
“Henceforth, SWAN would no longer fold its arms and watch people blame their misfortune on the a$$ociation. We have, as major stakeholders, contributed positively to the development of sports in the country, and would no longer tolerate people dragging SWAN in their maladministration technical ineptitude.
“We remain committed to sports development in Nigeria.”
