Ex-Liverpool Midfielder Momo Sissoko Eyes West Bromwich Albion Deal
Former Liverpool midfielder Momo Sissoko has set his sights on a return to the Premier League as he seeks to earn a contract at West Bromwich Albion.
Sissoko, 31, is on trial at The Hawthorns after leaving Chinese Super League side Shangai Shenhua earlier this year, and hopes he can convince manager Tony Pulis to sign him.
He joined Liverpool from Valencia in the summer of 2005 and spent two-and-a-half years at the club, becoming a popular figure.
“I have a lot of good memories from my time at Liverpool,” Sissoko told Sky Sports. “It was a great time in my career, and I hope I can go back there with West Brom or another club and enjoy some good moments with my ex-team.”
Speaking about his trial spell with the Baggies, he added: “I feel good. It’s been a long time since I left England. I’ll be here with West Brom this week and we’ll see what happens after that.
“The manager has told me just to come and enjoy it and then we’ll sit down and talk about my future.
“But I’m really happy to back with a club in one of the best leagues in the world and I hope I can stay.”
Sissoko left Liverpool in January 2008 and went on to spend spells at Juventus, Paris Saint-Germain, Fiorentina and Levante.
