Chelsea’s Diego Costa Believes Best Form Is Yet To Come
Diego Costa believes his best football is yet to come as his goal gave Chelsea a narrow 1-0 victory over West Bromwich Albion and moved them back to the top of the Premier League.
It was Costa’s hard work that led to a breakthrough against a resolute West Brom side and extended Chelsea’s run of consecutive league wins to nine.
The Spain international has scored 12 goals in 15 league appearances for the Blues this campaign after overcoming the struggles from last season that saw him net only 12 in 27, but he thinks he can do even better.
Costa’s words were relayed to BT Sport by Cesc Fabregas, who effectively interviewed his own teammate.
“He feels he’s in great form but not the best … so I wouldn’t like to see his best to be honest because he’s playing outstanding,” Fabregas said after his conversation in Spanish with Costa.
“But he says that the best way to attack is to defend well and at the moment we’re doing it.
“Yes, they had a few chances at the beginning, but he feels the team is very, very compact and very well organised and that makes it easier for the way we attack.”
