Alaafin Oyo Declares OPC leader, Gani Adams As 15th Aare Ona Kakanfo
19 years after the death of the 14th Aare Ona Kakanfo of Yorubaland, Chief MKO Abiola, coordinator of the Oodua People’s Congress (OPC), Otunba Ganiyu Adams, has become the 15th Aare Ona Kakanfo.
The possibility of Gani becoming Abiola’s successor emerged a few months ago when an Oyo high chief alluded to it at a programme organised by the OPC.
Aare Gani Adam’s personal assistant, Prince Segun Akanni, made this know to Goldmyne TV, saying, “God has done it…Thanks and honor is to Almighty God, the creator of Heaven and Earth. As from today Sunday 15th, October 2017, that man with many chieftaincy titles, the proud son of Arigidi Akoko, the national coordinator of Oodua People’s Congress, the convener of Oodua Progressive Union, the founder of Gani Adams Foundation, the chief promoter of Olokun Festival Foundation, the chairman and CEO of Donyx Global Concept becomes the 15th Aare Onakakanfo of Yoruba land…”
