Neymar Finally breaks silence after Brazil’s World Cup exit to Belgium
Neymar has described Brazil’s World Cup exit as the ‘saddest moment of my career’ following their defeat to Belgium on Friday.
Brazil have been knocked out of the quarter-final stage in Russia after they lost 2-1 to Roberto Martinez’s side.
An own goal from Fernandinho gave Belgium the lead in the first half before Kevin De Bruyne doubled their advantage before the break.
Renato Augusto netted in the second half to set up a tense finish but Belgium were able to hold out for the victory.
‘I can say that it is the saddest moment of my career,’ Neymar wrote on Instagram.
The pain is very great because we knew we could get there, we knew we had the conditions to go further, to make history, but it was not to be this time.
‘It’s difficult to find the strength to want to play football again, but I’m sure God will give me enough strength to face anything, so I’ll never stop thanking God, even in defeat.
‘Because I know that your way is much better than mine ‘I’m very happy to be part of this team, I am proud of everyone, our dream was interrupted but they did not get out of our head and neither of our hearts.’
. . 📷 @nogueirafoto
